Built over generations.

Before Creative Millwork, Joe Estock was an Industrial Arts teacher with manufacturing experience and Joy Estock was a high-school math teacher. Together they pursued an opportunity to build something of their own, and Creative Millwork was born on July 13, 1987.

From four employees to decades of engineered grille innovation.

The milestones below trace changes in products, technology, ownership, safety, community involvement, and capacity while preserving the history carried forward from the previous website.

Creative Millwork was born on July 13, 1987. The company began with four employees producing wood removable grilles for doors and windows. Its first client received an order in only three days, compared with an industry standard of three weeks at the time—an early expression of the company’s commitment to engineered grille products, service, and customer support.

Joe and Joy Estock’s son Mark, a mechanical engineer, joined the company.

Mark Estock became President of Creative Millwork.

Creative Millwork introduced aluminum simulated divided lite (SDL) grille products for windows and doors.

Creative Millwork introduced vinyl simulated divided lite (SDL) grille products for windows and doors.

Creative Millwork introduced GrillePro+ Software, individualizing each client’s window specification while also allowing customers to place orders 24/7.

Mark Estock became the owner of Creative Millwork.

Creative Millwork developed VCUT Grille Technology, creating precise, sharp cornering at the joints within a grille pattern.

Creative Millwork started production of Door Lite Frames.

Custom Decorative Designs were created and sold.

Creative Millwork introduced bronze grilles, expanding design possibilities for windows and doors.

Mark Estock’s son Brian Estock joined the company as a mechanical engineer.

Creative Millwork launched a new vision and revamped logo at the 2014 GlassBuild Show, giving the company a map for the future.

Creative Millwork gave back to the community by donating grilles to a local library.

2016

2016

Creative Millwork continued to push the envelope by creating a 1.5-inch-thick one-piece aluminum fabrication using VCUT Technology.

Creative Millwork was awarded a $40,000 Safety Grant from the Ohio Bureau of Workers’ Compensation for ergonomic improvements.

Creative Millwork of Ohio, Inc. was awarded a Certificate of Congressional Recognition and Achievement from the U.S. House of Representatives.

Creative Millwork released its patented Application Blocks, designed to make grille installation easier and faster.

The company also received the EHS Daily Advisor National Safety Award for Most Exceptional Progress in company safety standards.

Creative Millwork thanked its support staff and customers during a difficult pandemic year for their superior attitude and understanding.

Brian Estock became a minority owner of Creative Millwork of Ohio, Inc.

Creative Millwork expanded GRIDRUNNER to include frame surround and fully assembled shipping options for easier installation.
